Respawn at Celle, after reconnecting.

Dear Shinkicker, and the rest of the Opendayz community,

It seems that sometimes when a player disconnects, and reconnects. He gets teleported to a fresh spawn place, but with there own gear.

Normally i would say that there location didn`t get saved to the database when they left.
Meaning that they would respawn at an 'old' location.

But unfortunatly, they get spawned on a place they have never been before with that character. And what i found out, is that they are being teleported close to Celle.

This bug happens every day so far, with different players.
As well as normal players as close friends.

I have spoken with Shinkicker earlier, and he asked me to provide him with the .RPT file.
Which i will be sending him right after creating this post.

But i do wonder, are there more people getting struck by this weird bug? So yes, please let us know. Especially to Shinkicker.

Yeah i got this "bug" a couple of hours earlier, but only 1 time. I disconnect from the server, shut it down for fixing vehicle table and suddenly after a restart i was between celle and wienhausen.
 
I can confirm, this bug occurs randomly when disconnecting to lobby or fully from the server.
I watch the server console with hive debug and could see player steadily updating
Hive db with correct x/y coordinates, on respawn player is placed in a random default
Spawn location and then hive overwrites last know correct coordinats. I'm thinking
The issue is with the map script not waiting to get data from hive db long enough.

To be honest, map wise there is likely not much I could do to remedy this.

How many players did you have when this happened? It looks like a performance issues which could be either network, hardware, or more likely the arma2oaserver process or Bliss.

Take a look at following for some pointers:

Do you have the arma server process using all cores?

I would recommend checking resource utilization if it ever happens again (cpu and mem use under task manager).

Other then that I really don't think there is anything I can do within Celle here. When it comes to hive writing etc, I am using stock DayZ with nothing new added.

It does not occur every time. However I have been testing Celle on my server (Bliss hive 4.0) with just myself logged in and when it occurs the server load is nominal 5-9% CPU and roughly 3ms hive response time. I'm not sure if it's client related issue. On one occasion it spawned my character in the default spawn without backpack, inventory, or weapons, then I seen the hive message that overwrote my inventory in db with blank values.
 
Hmm.... So it isn`t just me....

I`m running a Utes server on the same machine, simultaneously.
And without this problem.
CPU throttles max to +/- 20% while running both.

I thought it was just on my end... but reading this makes me think it isn`t...

I`ll keep looking for a pattern so i can eventually reproduce it.
 
shin_kicker where did you place you "respawn_west" marker and also what is your debug radius set to?
 
that was my exact idea asswell it seems to be debug-plaining players (like we had on takistan in the beginning asswell)

yeah but this is a modified dayz_server.pbo ( this is not the error, same with "default dayz_server.pbo" )

i just changed the radius of all the markers(debug,spawnpoints etc.) to account for the size of the map :)

Snajdan, may i ask what is actually 'custom' on your version of dayz_server.pbo?
The reason for me asking is that i would like to use the version from Stapo as well.
So we can put this bug in the book of history.

Although i don`t know whats the difference between your version and my default one.

Yeah i know, sometimes i put really strong weapons into this game, trying to "refix" the dropchance
so about the special wrecks:
Only MV22-Wreck # MH60-Wreck # C130J-Wreck # HMMWV-Wreck existing, because military training area/space. So on i "created" a special loottable, because they used existing tables like:

Residential
Industrial
Military
Supermarket
Hospital


and yeah the existing bug was: double lootdrop :eek::eek::confused:
At 1 chrashsites there was an M107 with an AS50 in one lootspot = 4-5 from them at one crash site

@Snajdan, i see.... you changed quiet some things...

@Stapo, Awesome! Affirmative. This is the stock of dayz_server.pbo for Celle.

Nothing was changed in the dayz_server.pbo, and so there is no stock celle file. Its whatever bliss or pwnoz0r release. If any spawns are set its within the mission file.

Can you let me know what you changed stapo (and thanks for your help too). I am just porting to 174 and so I can include it.
