What is DayZ Insanity? - DayZ Insanity is a hardcore server which aims to bring back the survival aspect of DayZ. We want to increase the grind of looting and make it a big factor in the server. We also want to encourage roleplay and the use of the many player interactions that can be used within DayZ, however roleplay is not a rule, the server is yours and you play to your own play style. With all the mods available for DayZ now it has turned into more or less a military simulator rather than the survival number it is meant to be, that is why we have decided to start this server.
What makes it hardcore? - We have re worked all the central loot economy making vital items a lot more scarce. Food and drink items are a lot harder to come by. Hunting becomes your best friend, however finding a weapon, ammo and a knife will prove difficult. Animal spawning has also been tweaked, no more finding a chicken in every town!
Zombie spawns have also been improved, so expect to see more of them when scavenging through them houses.
Base building has been tweaked so there will be more of a grind when searching for them tools and nails.
Nights are dark! Lets hope you find a light source for your travels.
Why roleplay? - DayZ is a great base for roleplay, there are so many player interactions, situations and survivor stories to be told in the world of Chernarus that I think all servers should have some roleplay in there. We know roleplay isn't for everyone that is why we encourage it and not enforce it. If you want to shoot somebody because they are running through the forest with a green glow stick, then go ahead! Is your precious ammo that you have spent an age looking for worth shooting an innocent survivor, who could potentially have nothing of use to you. Decisions play a big part here and the wrong one will kill you.
