use map editor to place vehicles

hello all is there anyway to use the arma 2 map editor to place vehicles on the map with custom buildings and then add them to the database to go along with where they are in the custom mission?

i know if you add them and then try to play the mission the vehicles with blowup. thanks in advance for any info.
