Except that zeds are player side... The Arma developers had a choice, let AI mobiles through when they couldn't find a good path or have them stuck dancing on occasionally odd geometry.

In dayz getting shot/mauled and going into bleedout is a big deal. You will lose 16 ~ 90% of your total blood over...

I am going to look at the following. May take a few days.:
1) Game difficulty settings (regular, veteran, etc...)
2) Event handlers attached to the AI.
3) Server PBO vs. mission file method
My AI are too resilient. I have to shoot em in the head or hit them in the body with 7.62 about 8 times or dump 2 clips of stanag into them. I can't kill them by running over them. It just knocks them out for about ten seconds. I spent a good half a minute running over a survivor 10 times...
Naught has a set of AI caching scripts called UCD. It works with or without headless clients to distribute the AI load and cache all units except the group leader when no player is within a certain range of the group. Search Armaholic website.

@ebay I appreciate your comments in the epoch forums. Unfortunately, when I tried to view them earlier, the epoch server was having "issues".
I think I can still make the code available and advise people about what the community thinks it can and cannot do. My plan is to just create a github...

I have DZAI working with headless client. It takes minor changes to the DZAI code and requires the method whereby the DZAI folder is placed within the MPMissions\<server mission name>...
Don't forget, the independent team on wasteland is allowed to teamkill to their hearts content. Shove everyone on independent, get rid of nameplates and the colored dot above their head and you are good to go.
