1.7.5.1+ loot tables?

i have been looking all over for an explanation on how loot tables work in 1.7.5.1. specifically:

1. how i would add in additional weapons. (mk17, mk12 spr, lapua, etc)
2. is it possible to edit the heli wreck loot table... i have already disabled the 50 cals; but, can i actually edit the table?

i would greatly appreciate someone taking the time to school me on how everything is working these days.
