I used to play EvE Online. Spiritually DayZ is very similar in scope and feel to EvE and I relish the paranoia it breeds. It would take ages to gather wealth in EvE as it does in DayZ, and it could all be taken at any moment by a foe you know is there, just not where.
I read with interest this article by mmatthewuir about wealth in DayZ and how itself accumulates wealth. As an admin I (try to) restrict my powers, as without the paranoia of death; therefore loss of wealth, there's no DayZ.
