How does the server work?

Ive been trying to develope a a new mod, but I do not understand how does the server side work? Have been making the clientside mod, but have not yet purchased a server or started on the dayzserver.

alittle more info is needed mate,

asking how the server works can entail many things such as

how does the server handle players
how does the server spawn loot
how does the server connect to the client
how doe the server .......

also check out some server side scripts sucjh as DZAI, DZMS, Airraid, etc to see how server side scripts/mods work

I mean how do I add all the addons and such i put in the clientside to the server?
