Also, server release will be available in the upcoming minutes

Basebuilding is done with the following parts. I'll keep finding out the recipes to yourselves, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out!
  • Sandbags
  • Tank Traps
  • Wood Piles
  • Wire
  • Scrap Metal
I'd also like to note that this will be our final release of DayZ 2017 (unless there is some critical bug), and if you want to read up on why, please keep reading. Also, I have written a personal goodbye note to OpenDayZ and the DayZ community in general, so if you are interested, please read along too.

Thanks and Credits:

Rocket and Matt & Co for starting it all.

R4Z0R49 and all the community guys.

Icewindo, BIS, Johannes (ArmA1 SF mlod parts used), GSC Gameworld - Hoods, for the original units.

Colonel Stagler - for allowing us to modify and use his IRA units.

SchnapsdroSel - for the base female model used for the female survivor.

Josh and Sickboy for getting the mod out there.

R3F whose Realism code we used as a basis.

On to our notes:
After the wonderful times we've had coding and playing DayZ 2017, it's time to say our goodbyes to DayZ 2017, and move on to even better things. We want to thank all of you for your continous support, and want to apologise to you for waiting so long with this release.

To give a bit of information as to why the update was so delayed, it was our intention first to release 2.1 not only with basebuilding, but also with the new DayZ version (1.7.6). This unfortunately, took a lot of time, and after about 2 weeks of coding and testing, we had to give up on getting it to 1.7.6. It simply takes too much time for us to get that done, and we think we can invest our time even better in our newest mod for ArmA 3.

We hope you enjoy/have enjoyed your time on DayZ 2017, and again, we want to thank you for your continous support! You guys are all amazing people.

And, with this on mind, and Shinkicker having it done in the last release thread (2.0.1), I feel like I also need to write this note (this is a personal note and does not have to reflect any of the other teammembers thoughts/opinions)

After about 2 years in the DayZ community, I feel like my time has come to say goodbye to all! My life has become a lot more stressful in the past months, and due to that, I have had an inability to mod for a while (this is another reason why 2.1 was delayed).
Including our new mod for ArmA 3, I simply do not have any time left to stay around these forums, or in the DayZ community in general. I will remember you guys though: as was already stated in the quote above, you are all amazing people.

Finally :D Just need to wait for the first 2.1 servers. Good luck with 2017 and I will check it out as soon as it is released :)

I tried the 2.1 on pl@net dayz. I respect the time you invest to code your own basebuilding mod, but it is very hard to use, because you can't move the baseparts after crafting and you are not able to destroy them. If you don't stand right while crafting you can make your whole base look bad, because one part is at the wrong position.

If I try to craft the workbench it doesn't place it, maybe this make you able to move and disassemble the parts?

You can destroy the basebuild objects! If you look with your mouse around the middle of the objects and are close to them, you should get an option for disassembling. The spot might be a bit difficult to find. You also get your items back when you disassemble it.

The workbench shoudln't be craftable at all; it was something we tried but didn't fully implement. If you get the option to craft it, then that's a small bug.

Ok thanks for the info, that will help :) Are other players able to disassemble object I placed? I hope nobody starts to block parts of electro with objects :D

No, you can only disassemble your own placed objects. And they are based on your survivor; if you die, you can't disassemble it anymore (like packing a tent)

nice :)
It is very hard to remove objects though. sometimes even impossible.

What is the purpose of the rusty cabin?

Sorry to see you guys go, Thnx for an awesome mod guys... It got me renewed into the DAYZ game once again...

Hopefully you don't lose touch with the community too much... But Good Luck with whatever you do in the future..
