It's basically an upper limit to the number of current live AI units spawned by DZAI, but it's more of a soft limit. Every time a spawn script is started, it checks if the current number of live AI units is reached or exceeded. If not, then it spawns a certain number of units,and might exceed the limit.

By the way, setting the limit to 20 is a bit low. At the NWAF alone, there can be 30 or more AI units.

Today I've found a bug with the live AI counter. So, I recommend you leave DZAI_maxAIUnits value at 65535 until I find some way to fix it. Otherwise, AI may suddenly stop spawning until a server restart.
