Sorry Im confused... how do I use what you posted with the original script? What instructions am I following/not following?
As for the bot, I'd like to avoid spawning bots and killing the player because of performance issues, and the possibility of lag duping. I'd just like the remove all of...
I run a popular pvp server and the combat logging is out of hand. The only thing overwatch does by default its attempt to block Alt+f4 but this obviously doesn't stop combat loggers.
I'm really interested in getting this to work on overwatch...
My overwatch server still experiences random group joining in a bad way. I attribute it to the sheer amount of players dying and respawning. I've noticed it often seems to group people who have died a lot recently with others who have also died a lot and/or people who have been killing a lot...
Nope. I have no idea why they don't do it. It might be specific skins I have players spawning in, but I know when I used a different database schema I never had the problem. I just kinda gave up. My server is basically the furthest thing from dayz you can get, without being a different game, anyway.
Going to necro this thread!!!!
Hopefully this wasn't answered already, because if it was I didn't see it...
I'd like to change the border colors of the spawn selection and halo/ground spawn screen to red from the default blue. Can anyone assist me please? Thanks
My server FPS hovers around the mid twenties but will from time to time drop to 10. People will occasionally be unable to join the server until I restart it.. I lovingly refer to this as battle royale mode. I credit this more towards incorrect basic.cfg or myini settings.
In my experience, and Im obviously not nearly as advanced as you guys, but the more communication the server has to do with the database, the laggier it gets. That's why epoch/overpoch are laggy shit storms. Lots of saved vehicle inventory, stashes, tents, safes, lockboxes, vehicles, base...
At this stage in Arma 2 Dayz.. people just use the zombies as a way to know if a player is in an area. I think the majority of players who really want the dayz feel have moved onto Standalone or perhaps one of the Arma 3 mods like Breaking Point.
In my opinion this is kind of a pointless modification anyway. The zombie are absolutely zero threat when you make them walk. You're better off just removing zombies or lowering their spawns to as low as possible.
I don't have that problem.. it just randomly joins players who die into random groups sometimes.
If you're having every player spawned into the same group on epoch it sounds like you did something wrong with your installation. I had this script running flawlessly on overpoch in the past.
Seems that infiSTAR is blocking non admins from seeing the icons/player names above group members heads. If anyone can possibly help me/Delpi sort that out it would be much appreciated.
No log errors. I dont see how I literally just replaced the files. The only edit I made was changing PLAIN to PLAIN DOWN in the screen_loop and the edits in the description.ext
I don't see anymore errors. I am able to join the server now.. and without having a partner I can't properly test it but when I click form group I am no longer placed in a group with an AI as before.. clicking form group does nothing
Edit- Just tested with a friend. Group system doesn't work
I moved the #include lines to the top of the description.ext but now the server is just hung on waiting to authenticate. So the problem lies somewhere in my description.ext
Here is my description.ext
Yea Im very stumped. Server stuck on waiting for host. This is in the RPT
ErrorMessage: File mpmissions\__cur_mp.chernarus\custom\GMC\Groups\Setup\GUI\groupManagement.hpp, line 8: /GroupManagement/ControlsBackground.MainBG: Undefined base class 'W_RscPicture'
Still haven't been able to test this yet but I noticed in your functions.sqf, very bottom
you're missing the ; on the last closing bracket.
it's } instead of };
