This is been sort of fixed. I have found It was Infastar Ah causing the problem version 332x So i have gone back on version and have contacted Chris via email and am waiting for the new patch which I believe is 332z which fixes this issue

Hi Guys has any one else had this issue since going over to steam?
I changed to steam over the weekend since then me and all players are have game freezes when you are in a vehicle and you can either run over some zeds - Ai Shoot at your car and or you hit you vehicle into something the game...
