Or "DayZero: Podagorsk" for a change if you dont deem the origins lot worthy of your time and attention considering the bearing of their moral compass.
There I was coming here hell-bent on leaving a comment along the lines of "another taviana project goin' south" until I spotted Tac replying explaining the hold-up. (havent gotten an email update for my sub for some reason)
Thanks Tac for sticking with the project and keeping us in the loop...
Cheers for that quick response. I would be absolutely thrilled about a (near-)future release of T3.0 with your work merged into it. But I also strongly encourage you to update and release your current build with all the progress on your end. This way the community can enjoy your truly...
Yup that made me lets say wonder as well and I am still rather uncertain if you should rely/wait on 'that guy'. Past experience shows the potential for amazingly prolonged waiting times. I am saying that because we heard that 'really soon' before and as it turns out there is a vast variety when...
Well I assume the system requirements for a linux server are in or slightly above the ballpark of what a windows-based dayz server for 50 players would require.
Are you using wine to run the server or what kind of solution does the trick for you?
Thanks a bunch Tac! Quite astonishing work! I yet have to give it a go but seeing that I have my finals tomorrow I'll take it for a spin. Always wondered though what it would take to host the game on a linux box. Could you provide some info on that maybe?
Yup cen I second that. Tactical just finish what you have started. The worst that could happen is you get a cease and desist letter in your actual mail telling you off for being a naughty boy and asking you to not do it again. I guess thats about the size of it in terms of personal consequences...
Thank you Tactical_Force for your effort and time that it is taking you to make this happen. Me and quite possibly a big chunk of the community highly appreciate your work!
Not sure if the client files are compiled so here is the link to the official DayZ mod github repository handled by R4Z0R49:

You might want to talk to the actual creator of the map (Martin Bauer) about that. A bit of friendly advise would be to have your cheque book handy though :). Hicks ported the base DayZ code to Taviana. I assume such endeavors would need to be undertaken by the creator.
Given their track history I wouldn't stake my life or anything else you value on it. The attentive reader might ask why right around this point. Well because the integration of the most recent base DayZ version was announced twice. Sadly that progress is lacking certain stages past the...
I am just expecting from others what I expect from myself. I am also a free time coder who has dedicated over a year of his time to the development of two hooks for an open source project called pyload and all this during my time as a job trainee - that means going to work in the afternoon after...
But as always if there wouldn't have been a release date mentioned in the first place no one would have given Hicks any crap about it. Now obviously he is not to blame for the reaction of others though when you miss a release date you have set yourself and announced to a broader public do...
