I'm sorry but I really have never been able to figure out how to join by IP, despite playing DayZ since release. Any help would be appreciated. I'm using DayZ Commander. Thanks.

Go to the Favorites in DayZ Commander, and at the top right corner, just above the list of your favorites there is a space where you can enter server ip and add it to your favorites.
