Modifying "gender selection"?

Is it at all possible to add text under the "choose gender" pictures and possibly change the character images/what they give when you choose them?

I'm hoping if it's possible, it won't require modifying dayz_code.

It is possible, but it does require to edit the DayZ_Code because thats where all the files you need to edit are.
