navcat cannot connect to database

Not sure what I messed up trying to create my first dayz server.
Created a virtual machine with win 7 pro and installed steam with new arma 2 and arma2 oa.
Extracted the server pack to arma 2oa and installed navcat.
Ran the mysql batch file and created a new connection in navcat: Dayz Private, 127.0.0.1, 3306, root, root
I tried no password and localhost and still same error

I get the following error:
2003 can't connect to mysql server 127.0.0.1 (10061)

So I cannot see any tables in the database.

Here is the log file for mysql:

AND
What IP do I use for my virtual machine for port forwarding on my router. I used the same ip as my host box(192.168.0.100)???

Ran the mysql batch file and created a new connection in navcat: Dayz Private, 127.0.0.1, 3306, root, root

You need to run the port on 3316 not 3306.

Ok i changed the network settings in the vm to bridged and now i get a proper 192.168.0.x IP
