Online: how does it work?

Quick question for anyone with experience for this private server pack.

Is it purely LAN or can I get friends in different cities to play via an internet connection?

If this is anything like another server then you have to port forward your Ip address and send them your ip then they put it in dayz commander.
 
Okey dokey. Well, being someone new to this, does anyone have a guide for me that could help establish this sort of connection? I've used Hamachi for other games before, so there's minimal experience there.

If it helps, I can see my server on the LAN multiplayer page and seem to have everything working well with the actual server.
 
My server has always been on LAN and internet (from the game and it also appears in DayZ Commander). I have never changed anything regarding how you can find it, so I'm assuming it's a default.


Anyway, if anyone knows how to make it NOT appear on the "Internet" optin in-game, I'd be glad to know how to ^^
