Two databases

Can someone point me in the direction of a tut or something to give me knowledge as how to run two databases for One server.

I want to run my own database along side the public hive I'm just unsure how to do this.

you talking about one for objects and one for the rest? the hive uses your own database to begin with, look in your hive files and it has settings for 2 database using.
