[Support] ESS

I used to be with HFB, but couldn't afford it anymore, downgraded to Dayz.st. I looked and saw SS.com was horrible. can't say much about Dayz.st support either tho. Haven't tried Vilayer, but cost more.

I think HFB shut down. SS has TERRABLE customer service, and servers go down right much. They offer 3 months for $54... im a sucker for a deal, lol. I should have went back with VILAYER. Will after 3 months is up.

I use to have 3 or 4 servers with Vilayer when I had a community up. They have problems like everyone else, just not as much. And they have really good customer service for the most part.

Thanks for taking a look ebay. I'm gonna keep hacking at it. It's weird because it was working fine before I installed that. There was another I did at the same time, like a dummy, but I remember thinking that it wouldn't have any effect on the spawn after it was broke, can't remember what it was.... I'll let you all know if I find anything.

Still getting the Halo stuck problem and donataor base doesnt show.

No rpt warning

The problm with the donator is: No Base appaering in select spawn but all the rest working ( other select spawn, class etc)

The problem with the Halo selection still the same. People still floating on sky, once they open the parachute they begin to fall from the sky but it ll take very long to touch the ground...
 
Since I updated to the new ESS version for 1.0.5.1 I am also stuck in the sky once again. I was running a Overpoch Napf server 1.0.5.1 with ebays prior version of ESS and everything was working great except a few of the skins had the floating in the sky problem.

Any ideas guys?

Are either of you with Survival Servers? I am and I know someone else that is also, and we both have the halo problem.
 
I'm with Vert. Survival Servers stole enough of my money for services not provided. Never never again, you get what you pay for :)

Right about that, waiting on my partial refund now. Then going back to vilayer I think. Anyway...

I had it working when I first put it in. Then I installed some other addons and it stopped. i just tried to re-install on a fresh .pbo, and the halo is still messed up. But like I said, it was working the first time until I repacked my .pbo's and then it stopped. So... Either PBO manager is gimping the .pbo files during packing or unpacking, or my Epoch files are messed up on my PC. From what I can see, it's gotta be one or the other.

Anything you find further, let me know please. Thanks.

I leaning towards the .pbo program gimping the unpack/pack since i had it working before. I also have to use winRar to extract when I first download frssh from my host. Who knows. Will check it with other programs tonight.
 
I'm no expert but PBO manager "Gimping" isn't really likely... if that happened I would expect the server to not load at all due to a messed up PBO... Just my two cents..
 
I'm not so sure. You may be right, as I'm not a coder, I just script, but when I noticed that the epoch admin tools were disabling my f2 infiSTAR panel key, I disabled the f2 function in the admin tools. While this didn't make the infistar work again, either that or repacking the .pbo made the halo drop work again. No idea what's going on with it...
 
Are either of you with Survival Servers? I am and I know someone else that is also, and we both have the halo problem.

I am with SS However, I don't use their pbos.... I can honestly say that once you get through the teething problems they have been fine. I have found the front end control panel can be tempremental but if you use a third party sql and ftp software it's pretty stable. There was a recent spate of ddoss on the Dallas server but it's all protected now.

Infistar, personally I don't like. The ah config file is messy and difficult to work with so I just disable it. Dependant on what server you want I am sure you can find some vanilla pbo and work it from there. The SS pbo have been packed well for a normal unmodified user. But for someone who follows this forum the instructions you will get from developers here won't line up with them.

Oh and use cpbo from the arms holies Arma 2 tools.
 
Chi -> I got a wild hair up my butt this morning and decided to unpack my pbo - check it out to make sure all my ESS edits were in place - repacked it - re uploaded it and guess what?

ESS/Halo works now....

I'm at a loss but happy none the less. I can't explain it but you must have been right about pbo manager "Gimping" something upon repack.

I'll completely test it later today to make sure all skins are working etc...

Vilayer made his own PBO file once server restart.
Anyway, i dont guess it's the reason ( a corrupt pbo ) because it may not corrupt each time and only this script.
 
I have a problem where clicking base seems to drop me in the radiation zone in the far north west. Also, before adding my id and coords to the list when both lists were zeroed, the spawn button still showed for me and clicking it would do the same, drop into the radiation zone.

I have racked my brains and gone through the install 3 times now and as far as I can see I have installed everything perfectly according to the original post including the later instructions to only use spawn selection.

This is what I have in my server_functions:

Has anyone else had this issue? Anyone got any ideas to help?
