Stormy weather

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make more intense storms, Right now you get the cool lightning, thunder and rain, but I'd like to see occasional driving rain. By this I mean rain pouring down so hard you can't see more than a few meters in front of you with deafening rain. Maybe even high winds.

Is this doable?
 
Id like to see the same! There 100 servers out there with "no rain", "no fog", etc... But I think a .01 chance of a tornado, hail, or as stated, blinding rain would be awesome!
