Also, when re-logging after becoming a Bandit/Hero on Female characters, you get a free sex/outfit change.

And as for the new guns, me and my clanmate were just discussing the new way the shotgun shells and M4 will work.

I suggested the Shotgun shells should be able to be consolidated 1 by 1 to have anywhere between 1 and 8 shells in one stack. Instead of just 1, 1, 1, 1, etc, taking up inventory spaces like no one's business.


He also commented on the Taped mag on the M4 (looks great btw), and asked how exactly that would work. Is it purely visual? or does it serve some function.

The Mag on G36's have a dynamic texture (you can see the bullets deplete), so maybe when you find 5 round mags for the M4, you can just load them normally and have it look like the Mag on the new AK texture (Cause why not randomly tape?). But if you find 2, you can craft them together with tape (find in residential/industrial/supermarket, most often in supermarket) and have a actual taped mag. ie: basically a 10 round mag that only takes up one slot, but you have to reload halfway through (almost like the bolt on the enfield), that has a reload speed modifier that makes it twice as fast (or faster) than a normal reload.

I don't know if it's possible, but it would be pretty cool.
 
Rusty suv, or even better change the bus into a post-apocalyptic rv. Remove the seats and put in beds/hammocks etc.
The ability to use scrap metal to upgrade a windowless skoda to corrugated jobby.

Food spoiling is a good idea.

I know there's the gyro in it, but how abouot a knackered, rusty, little bird or jet ranger helo?

Unban Radios as a tool
Radios allow you to use side chat on servers with side chat disabled
Radios need batteries to work, batteries can be found in pretty much everywhere except hospital/medical loot, but as a higher chance in Supermarkets (Batteries are decently rare, maybe 0.5% spawn rate)
Batteries have 10 charges, every message to side chat uses 1 charge.

Maybe even have to repair the radio first, like new antenna/wiring.
If you're able to do it for guns, and you can do everything else stated above, then def make them have to be repaired before use. Would make some pretty interesting game-play decisions.
"Do I call for help and risk death cause everyone can hear me?" etc.

Probably impossible, but it's a fun idea none the less.

This would be really cool, but unfortunately, not possible.
If side chat is turned off, it'll stay off. We can't change it unforunately.

I mostly just want to not have server wide communication as something everyone can do all the time, because spam wars between bandits occur on my server, and we only have maybe 15 concurrent at peak at the moment.
I still want server wide chat to work, for important things, that people have to think about before they say.
I can't just go about reprimanding people for talking when we only have that many people.

I see what you mean, but it's either going to be always on or always off. It's set by server admins

On a somewhat related note, what exactly can you do with group chat in DayZ? I've seen people use it in the past, but specifics i'm lost on. Pretty sure all I can do with it is talk to myself.

In DayZ it kinda works like direct chat from what I've seen
 
With the time frame that 2017 is based in ammo for certain weapon must have surely vanished. That said would jerry-rigging weapons make sense in the setting? Lets say for example the Crossbow: The ammo is recoverable if the zombie doesn't fall on top of the bolt, this making it a very efficient weapon for the time period. Would it not make sense to be able to find a crossbow where someone has taken the scope off a CCO or Kobra, and somehow rigged it to the crossbow. It would of course be extremely rare but would make sense in the setting. Plus it would just look cool with the rusty and worn textures you're applying to the weapons.

For the military weapons i believe you could actually make many of them fit into the setting. The Russian weaponry and weapons like the M14 would be extremely rare, say a 0.5% chance of finding one, but at the same time the most common on the military weapons if you take into account their durability in real life. An armalite weapon, like an M4, degrades quicker so I, personally, would make impossible to find. The military weapons you can find make them to where they've been modified to make them more emmersive with the setting, much like the example i used earlier with the crossbow.

But with a 2017 feel.

Maybe add in Fletching with the crafting, and make if possible, the ability to differentiate between tree types based on location. That way you can have shitty oak bows with low power and low durability, and maybe.... yew bows, with high power and durability.
Ability to make some type of bow out of scrap metal as well.
 
Just an idea,if animals are gonna become more rare and mainly rabbits then it may serve well to allow lone wolves to use blood bags themselves??This is being suggested for SA but its not taking well as people feel that slaughtering 2 cows and spamming steaks is more realistic then a player giving themselves an IV injection of blood.:rolleyes: No one seems to understand that the survival feel goes away when there is food everywhere though and a fix for this is to.....ehhhh NM!

Just make them rare like weapons so player has something they are constantly on look out for.You can save them then for those life saving moments.Shinkicker,any thoughts on this?

Why rocket doesn't want to do that is because it's one of the only necessary friendly player interaction stuff there is. From my standpoint, I don't think it should be changed.

But I am not suggesting this for Dayz but rather 2017.Dayz is its own entity and a good majority love the mod just as it is.If Rocket were to try to add a harsh survival feel to the game the masses would revolt!!

If it is at least one interaction, it's better than none. Honestly, I feel like meat shouldn't give you blood and only specialized people can give blood bags (heroes possibly - though it would be really hard to get a hero skin if you can't bloodbag)
 
What if blood bags spawned with no blood, and you had to fill them with the blood of dead survivors. like a canteen, but with blood.

I see this being possible.
 
I'm not entirely sure if it's been suggested in a previous post, but changeable clothing apparel like in standalone would be awesome.

Perhaps shoes that allow you to run faster or lower noise of footsteps, clothing that will allow more maneuverability but make you colder, etc.
