Sharing Bans.txt, lets help eachother keep our servers free of cheaters.

that's a good idea, people who want to add em can (I would add em tbh).
I'm just being causious as to what to add. This thing shouldn' t turn into anything like " he said fuck, so he's permabanned from every server"
 
true, but these people did this in an excessive way and the last choice is allways yours if you want them add on your server. But to be honest, i dont think that people like that will just stop this if they get banned from one server.
But maybe just in case we all should define what kind of people should be added to this list and which dont.
For me that kind of people should. Like Seaweed said its not diffrent if you spawn things
 
Personally, I don't give a rats ass about dupers unless it's on an excessive scale. Also, severity I think depends on the mod. Duping items on my server is sort of stupid considering my item spawn rate is very high and it's just guns. Duping on epoch might be different because it would give a player a significant advantage.

That being said, I'd prefer to just keep the bans list for people who are seriously cheating and using 3rd party scripts. These people are a kind of threat that is different from exploiting a glitch in the game. People who dupe items might just being doing it because a friend showed them how or whatever, but otherwise are decent players. I feel they might deserver another chance and to automatically be banned on any server who uses this list might be a bit harsh for the crime. However, people who knowingly use 3rd party scripts with the purpose and intent of injecting things into the game so that they can abuse other players, and just be general assholes, do not deserve a second chance. It takes effort and forethought to inject scripts. Time spent finding the right injector to get around battleye, finding updated scripts to get around antihacks, etc. Also, these people don't just have one script for injecting items into the game, they're going to have teleport or god mode etc.

So in short I would like to keep those separate. I believe duping falls under the category of something you personally don't allow on your server, but not necessarily something that everyone doesn't allow. Unless of course, the duping is on an extreme level or is a continued behavior.
 
So let us mark those bans with a specific description, like "duplicated Gear". Then everyone of us can decide for his own if he keep them banned or not.

If you dont mind racism, take them out, we ban for such idiotism.
All detected weapons and items in the list have been hacked in as they are disabled on our server.
There are also a very few duplicating bans inside, so if you dont like them delete them.
Those bans are no abusive, guessing or maybe I dont like this guy bans, they have all been proofed.
 
I'll write from the somewhat opposing view. Say you have a rule against no voice in side chat (something I allow) and a player continues to the point where you ban them. I don't want this guy playing on my servers either. It doesn't matter what the particular disruption is, if it rises to the point that it requires an admin ban then they will most likely cause issues in other areas and that's just something I don't need. I've said it a bunch of times, I'd rather have 10 quality players who are never trouble than 35 random public ones.

I want all your bans, trivial or not.

Go ahead and add them if you feel like it, it's your discretion, but the point of this thread is not for rule breakers, it's for cheaters using 3rd party scripts. Once you start opening the doors and allowing bans to be added for rules being broken on your server, its a small step to start adding bans for trivial matters. I'd prefer to keep the community ban list only for cheaters, specifically script kiddies. If you really want someone to be banned from your server for trivial matters, share them amongst yourselves via PM but I wont be adding them to the community ban file.
 
Most bans in there are cheaters, few are racist and very few are duping. I only post it here because someone asked me to do so. Nearly all bans have a reason so ist easy to sort. If you dont like it dont take it, simple.

thanks for sharing the ban list. I wasn't speaking to you directly, this was an ongoing discussion about what kinds of bans should be included. Like I said, you can paste them but I wont be adding them to the community ban list unless they're cheaters. Anyone is obviously more than welcome to add the ones I don't add to their personal ban list, I just don't want to set a precedent and open the doors to nonsense bans.

Players who duplicated Gear are marked, you can leave them out of the community list, but i post them anyway for people who want them in their ban list :)
 
I recently had some people kicked for a very bizarre script restriction. Not sure what to make of it, i made a thread about it if someone cares to look. Otherwise ill post the log snippet when i get home
